NIMBUS - the one you forget to leave

There comes a point when even rest doesn't rest you anymore.

When the weekend ends and you still feel tired. When you come home from a vacation in the same body you left in. When you start to wonder if the way you've been living is the way you're meant to.

Nimbus is for the version of you who's gotten there.

The road narrows. The forest thickens. The cabin is at the far western edge of the property, pulled back from the rest, half-folded into the treeline. By the time you step inside, you're already a little quieter than you were five minutes ago.

The room goes up. Eleven-foot ceilings. Dark-earthy finishes throughout. Floor-to-ceiling glass pulling the ridge straight into the room with you. Your shoulders drop before you've even taken your jacket off.

You sit down. You don't get back up for a while. The dog walks the room once and settles by the door. She knew before you did.

Out on the deck, the ridge falls away to the northwest. There's a treeline to the west that hides the actual sunset — which turns out to be the better deal. Instead of a single moment, you get a long slow hour of color. Pink first. Then gold. Then the deep purple that comes right before the first star.

You stay out longer than you meant to. Everyone does.

A shared fire pit waits a few steps down the ridge for nights you want company. Most nights you'll let it burn for someone else. Luna, our forest cabin, sleeps in the trees behind you. The path into the woods starts at your door.

Something is happening to you, and you can't quite name what.

By the second night, you've stopped checking your phone. By the third, you've stopped explaining yourself to anyone — even yourself. By the fourth, leaving doesn't feel like an option anymore.
